SUPERSTITIOUS BELIEFS

The word superstition drives from to the latin world's super and stitio which when put together reveal the meaning of standing still over or one who will stand awe, superstition beliefs, magical thinking and other paranormal activities have extended in a variety of cultures since the beginning of times. When people are out of their control they look for external sources of control superstitions are really a reaction to feeling out of control Though superstition has no rational explanation a large group of people still believe in them.

Being superstitious can affect a person's behavior and way of thinking, influencing everything. Superstition can be helpful too much can lead to obsessional thinking if taken too far says, Schwartz. Superstition has been linked with being an obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) according to the medians website.
As some of the symptoms of OCD mimic superstition behavior according to medium, there are some psychological benefits in believing in superstition. A benefit of believing superstition is illusion control, especially in uncertain situations.

Everyone has at least one superstition that they follow whether they will admit it or not whether it's from a certain religion or legend passed on their ancestors. It's in our human nature to come up with something to believe in however obscure and ridiculous, Many of these superstitions can dramatically affect a person's life.
